"A Day Which Will Live In Infamy"

It's fading from memory.  Every year more survivors pass away.  And today we are the best of allies with a country with whom we fought a bitter war.  But on a bright, sunny morning on Sunday, Dec 7, 1941 Japanese warplane descended on Pearl Harbor and reigned terror.  And the rest is history.   The heroes of the day, the desperate times that followed, the real fear that we could lose the war, the terrible toll that four years of slogging from island to island across the Pacific, the making of Naval Aviation as we know it today...well, it's all fading from memory.  It doesn't take much to take a moment to remember.  And perhaps the most important thing to remember is that when the chips are down, when despair is upon us, the citizens of this country sometimes respond magnificently.
