Motivation Monday

Retiree Humor

Now that I can see retirement on the horizon I've been considering what I'll do with my days.  A friend sent me this...

THE PARKING TICKET
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.   We went up to him and said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?'

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.  I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So my wife called him a shit-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.  Then he started writing a third ticket.  This went on for about 20 minutes.  The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Personally, we didn't care.  We came into town by bus and the car had an Obama sticker.  We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired.  It's important at our age.

St Patrick's Day Redux

Lots of stuff on the net about St Patrick's day.  Funny how it's become a huge excuse to...well...get shitfaced.  But Americans are a funny group.  It's over for another year but here's a couple of images to take with you.

A Protest I Can Get Behind!

Inspiring

Playing hockey on two legs is hard enough.  But playing on none?  Nothing short of inspiring!

Extremely Bizarre!

As I'm surfing around the internet I see a lot of things.  Some funny, some dumb, some beautiful, some bizarre.  But I have never seen anything as weird as this.  I can't even begin to explain it!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

March Madness

It's that time of year again.  March Madness.  For my money one of the best sporting events around.  64 teams.  All start with a chance to win.  Well okay...so some are more equal than others.  But they all have a chance.  And it is a lot of fun to root for the underdogs.

Every year there are a lot of different opportunities to fill out a bracket and track your picks.  Of course, most of us drop out somewhere along the way.  This year there is a new twist.  Quicken Loans has a deal where you can enter your bracket and if you pick a perfect bracket all the way to the end, you win ONE BILLION DOLLARS!!  That's $1,000,000,000!!  Yikes!  Check out the rules and sign up here.  Of course, your chances are ridiculously small.  But what the hell...GOOD LUCK!

Kiev III

Well, we knew it was too good to be true didn't we.  The dictator overthrown.  A popular uprising.  The new government finding it's way.  One week later things change again.  It was pretty predictable that the Russians wouldn't stand by and lose control of the Crimea.  It's just too important to them.  Will they continue and take part or all of Ukraine.  I'm betting yes.  And why not?  Putin can do pretty much what he likes.  I can close my eyes and almost think it's 1938.  Now don't get me wrong. There is nothing we should ( or could at this point) do militarily.  But there are things we could do both overtly and covertly.  We could start by leading.  But the statement of the leader of the free world shouldn't be so casual, so feckless, so devoid of strategy that no one takes him seriously.  It's not only embarrassing, it's dangerous.  Now events will unfold.  I just hope they don't spin out of control!

Hey...Do They All Have A Seatbelt?

We go about our daily lives here in the U.S. and forget what a bubble we live in.

Why?

I see these kinds of photos and I just can't help but ask...why?

Voice of Experience??

USPS

This guy is pissed!  Guess his mail was late.

Cool Pic

I guess the guy down below already went.  Wild ride!

Protests

Seems like more and more people are protesting.  But I'm not sure it does much good and I'm not sure  the protesters know what they are protesting.  Of course, I did my share of protesting in the 60s.  But it was mostly a place to meet girls...

Fashion

This girl has real fashion sense.

Nostalgia

Came across a few photos that some of you will recognize.  And you know who you are!

Why

I guess maybe this is some sort of a right of manhood.  But yikes...that would hurt!
