Elected Idiots

Have you been following the saga of this moron who is the Mayor of Toronto?  He admits to drunken rampages, using crack, buying drugs, and by implication being an idiot.  Reminds me of the quote from Animal House, "fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life".  I mean, why can't people who are such idiots just go away?  And how do they even get elected in the first place?  Talk about a disengaged electorate!
