Engagement

Lots of companies are concerned about the engagement level of their employees.  They implement all kinds of perceived solutions.  Some are just good practices.  Some are idiotic policies groping for answers.  But at the end of the day it's about leadership.  Some managers are leaders, most aren't.  The thing that drives employees to become disengaged faster than anything else (IMHO) is the failure of management to understand the workforce.  It's not the big things (although some big things can help if they are seen as sincere), it's the small everyday things.
