Michael Phelps

I've watched Michael Phelps over the years.  The rise to glory and the times when he exercised less than good judgement.  He always seemed to be a pretty good dude to me.  And of course, he was a great athlete.  Like anyone, he went through some growing pains and made some bad decisions.  He seems to have moved past that phase.  I hope so anyway.  He has what appears to be a strong support system in his Mom and his wife and child.  And that can tend to make someone grow up fast.

Before this Olympics, and especially last night, he was arguably one of the greatest Olympic athletes ever.  Now the argument is over.  Now he is legendary.  Winning the 200 Butterfly at 31 years old against world-class competition is just mind boggling.  And I have been really impressed by the leadership he has shown to the whole swim team.  Well done Michael...really well done!
