Living in the Swamp

I saw a great, great post over at USNI blog this week by CDR Salamander.  It's about military folks living in Washington DC.  You can read it here.  I spent two tours and 5 years of my life in that environment.  This post is so spot on it's scary.  It's easy to get enthralled by the power.  To think you're on the inside.  Well...you're not.  You can't be.  And the sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be.  Don't be the guy who get's sucked into this swamp.  Get in, get your job done, and get back to the fleet.  That's where the real action is!
